After a busy school day, children often need time to slow down, decompress and express themselves in a different way.
The After-School Craft Club offers a warm and welcoming space where children can explore their creativity, work with their hands and feel proud of what they create.
Through seasonal projects inspired by nature, children are encouraged to experiment, problem-solve and enjoy the simple joy of making.
This is a screen-free, nurturing environment where every child is supported to develop confidence, patience and imagination. Small groups, warm guidance and a cosy feel help children feel safe to try new skills, express themselves and build independence.

Each half term we will be completing several different creative projects. It's all about finding the fun in the making, not rushing to complete a piece every session.
Children will have the opportunity to explore a variety of natural materials and techniques such as:
Children will take home their creations, building a lovely collection of handmade pieces over the term.
There is always space for children to add their own ideas and personal touches — celebrating individuality rather than perfection.

Creative activities support children’s development in many ways. At Craft Club, children naturally build:
Craft can be especially valuable for children who may not always feel confident in sporty or highly academic environments — giving them a different and equally important space to shine.
Craft Club is inspired by the ethos of She Shed Creative — Bring nature home.
Sessions are designed to feel calm, encouraging and joyful. I often use natural or tactile materials and take inspiration from the seasons, helping children feel connected to the world around them.
There is no pressure to achieve a perfect result. Instead, children are gently guided to explore, try new skills and enjoy the creative process.
Every child’s work is valued and celebrated.

We meet every Wednesday of the school term for one hour - at 3.45 and at 5pm.
In the second half of the Summer Term there are 7 sessions, from 3 June to 15 July.
The Craft Club is run from my workshop in Newmarket. It is a calm garden studio, which is a self-contained space with its own toilet. It is surrounded by greenery and natural textures, which offers a peaceful alternative to busy classrooms.
The address is: 29 Woodditton Road, Newmarket, CB8 9BQ.
The Craft Club is designed for primary school-aged children, with activities suitable for a wide range of abilities and stages of independence. As every child is different, parents know best whether their child will feel comfortable attending — some younger children are very confident, while some older ones may still prefer a little extra reassurance. Sessions are held in small, friendly groups, creating a calm and supportive atmosphere where each child can receive gentle guidance, build confidence, and enjoy creating at their own pace. 🎨🌿
Children can be walked to the studio by the parent or dropped of at the garden gate. At the end of each session I will walk with the children to the front of the property, to ensure safety, and hand them over.
A FREE trial session for new members is available on the first session of each half term block. Attending a Taster Session doesn't automatically guarantee a place at the Craft Club as it's open to everybody. Visit the Workshops Calendar to secure your space.
The minimum membership is half a term (which varies between 5 and 7 sessions, including the free trial).
The cost is £15 per session paid in advance for the half term ahead, non-refundable.
At the end of the term a 2-week written notice is required for cancellations if your child is not going to continue for the next term, so any free spaces can be offered to new crafters from the waiting list or advertised out.

The club is run by Magda from She Shed Creative, who delivers creative workshops for children, families and adults.
Magda is passionate about helping children discover the joy of making by creating a safe, encouraging space where they can express themselves.
Her sessions are thoughtfully planned and rooted in seasonal inspiration, natural materials and gentle guidance.
