After-School Craft Club
After a busy school day, children often need time to slow down, decompress and express themselves in a different way.
The After-School Craft Club offers a warm and welcoming space where children can explore their creativity, work with their hands and feel proud of what they create.
Through seasonal projects inspired by nature, children are encouraged to experiment, problem-solve and enjoy the simple joy of making.
This is a screen-free, nurturing environment where every child is supported to develop confidence, patience and imagination. Small groups, warm guidance and a cosy feel help children feel safe to try new skills, express themselves and build independence.
What will your child make?
Each half term we will be completing several different creative projects. It's all about finding the fun in the making, not rushing to complete a piece every session.
Children will have the opportunity to explore a variety of natural materials and techniques such as:
- Nature-inspired crafts and seasonal decorations
- Painting and mixed media projects
- String art and simple textile crafts
- Clay modelling
- Shell art
- Creative construction and decorative pieces
- Candle making
Children will take home their creations, building a lovely collection of handmade pieces over the term.
There is always space for children to add their own ideas and personal touches — celebrating individuality rather than perfection.
What will your child learn?
Creative activities support children’s development in many ways. At Craft Club, children naturally build:
- Fine motor skills and hand strength
- Focus, patience and resilience
- Confidence and pride in their achievements
- Creativity and imagination
- Social skills and teamwork
- Problem-solving abilities
- Emotional wellbeing and regulation
- Knowledge of the natural world and the seasonal traditions (i.e. where beeswax comes from, how to look after plants, why do we celebrate Christmas with a tree)
Craft can be especially valuable for children who may not always feel confident in sporty or highly academic environments — giving them a different and equally important space to shine.
Practical Information
When
We meet on Mondays and Tuesdays of the school term for one hour, 3.45 - 4.45pm.
The first half of the Autumn Term 2026 rubs from 14th September - 20th October (6 sessions)
Where
The Craft Club is run from my workshop in Newmarket. It is a calm garden studio, which is a self-contained space with its own toilet. It is surrounded by greenery and natural textures, which offers a peaceful alternative to busy classrooms.

Age Group
The Craft Club is designed for primary school-aged children, with activities suitable for a wide range of abilities and stages of independence. As every child is different, parents know best whether their child will feel comfortable attending — some younger children are very confident, while some older ones may still prefer a little extra reassurance. Sessions are held in small, friendly groups, creating a calm and supportive atmosphere where each child can receive gentle guidance, build confidence, and enjoy creating at their own pace. 🎨🌿
Drop Off and Collection
Children can be walked to the studio by the parent or dropped off at the garden gate. At the end of each session please collect your child from the studio.
Booking and Cost
A FREE trial session for new members is available on the first session of each term block.
Attending a Taster Session doesn't automatically guarantee a place at the Craft Club as it's open to everybody. Visit the Workshops Calendar to secure your space.
The membership is for one term (please see the dates above).
The cost is £15 per session paid in advance for the term ahead and it is non-refundable. If you would like to pay in instalments, please contact me directly.

About the Workshop Leader
The club is run by Magda from She Shed Creative, who delivers creative workshops for children, families and adults.
Magda is passionate about helping children discover the joy of making by creating a safe, encouraging space where they can express themselves.
Her sessions are thoughtfully planned and rooted in seasonal inspiration, with natural materials and gentle guidance.
